Construction on Gutermuth Road will impact travel at the start of the school year

Officials from St. Charles County notified the District that a new road improvement project is likely to impact bus routes and travel to and from several Cottleville schools, including Francis Howell Central High School, Saeger Middle School and Warren Elementary School.

Beginning Monday, August 19, Gutermuth Road will be one-way eastbound (into historic Cottleville) between Old Gutermuth Road and Motherhead Road for utility work as part of the road-widening project, with the restriction expected to last up to five months.

Detour signs will direct traffic around the one-way section of roadway. Traffic can take Motherhead Road to Route N to Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Highway 364 to Gutermuth Road to bypass the closure.

The Francis Howell Transportation Department is actively working to modify impacted bus routes. Parents in the Cottleville area are encouraged to log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal before the first day of school to see if there are any changes to their child’s bus route. Student drivers and parents dropping off or picking up students are advised to allow extra travel time during the construction.
